Sagunto tenders the new public toilets for the Glorieta for 87,000 euros
The Local Government Board has approved a 86,731.90-euro tender to build public toilets at the Municipal Market to serve events held in the Cronista Chabret square.
The new toilets will be built in the south-west wing of the Municipal Market, in the part of the courtyard closest to the Glorieta, where a disused store and changing rooms now stand and will be demolished. The project includes three facilities — women's, men's and one adapted for people with reduced mobility — with separate access from the Cronista Chabret square. The works will renew finishes, floors, electrical and water systems and waterproof the roof, with a three-month construction period. The toilets will join the town's network of public restrooms. The project responds to a residents' proposal: it was chosen through participatory budgeting, a form of direct democracy in which residents decide which projects are funded from a municipal allocation, managed by the Citizen Participation Department (aytosagunto.es).
