The full council approved an agreement with the Childhood and Adolescence Chair of the Universitat Politècnica de València, funded with 12,000 euros (3,000 a year) until 2029.

The agreement will bring courses, seminars, conferences, studies, publications, awareness campaigns and workshops for children and families to the town over the next four years. The Chair will also work with the Local Childhood Council and help to assess and research the situation of children in Sagunto, which should improve the management of municipal programmes aimed at minors. The council will contribute 3,000 euros a year from this year until 2029. The initiative reinforces a long-standing municipal focus on childhood policy. The agreement was approved with votes from PSPV-PSOE, PP, Compromís per Sagunt and EU-Podem, with IP and Vox abstaining. The UPV (Polytechnic University of Valencia), founded in 1971, has around 28,700 students (aytosagunto.es). Sagunto was named a Child Friendly City by UNICEF and approved its first Municipal Childhood and Adolescence Council rules in 2008 (aytosagunto.es). According to elperiodic.com.
