Sagunto seeks Provincial Council funds to renovate its pilota court
Mayor Darío Moreno and Councillor Javier Timón met the Valencian Pilota Federation to fit the municipal trinquet (pilota court) into the provincial Pla de Trinquets.
The governing team and municipal technicians sat down with federation president Vicent Molines to prepare the paperwork needed to join this provincial plan. Both sides agreed to work together and to visit the already refurbished courts in Oliva and Riba-roja de Túria to bring good practice to the Sagunto facility. The meeting also looked at activities to bring pilota closer to younger residents and to help preserve this traditional Valencian sport. The initiative strengthens the town's cultural and sporting side within its Valencian identity. The Pla de Trinquets of the Provincial Council of Valencia has a budget of 8 million euros to refurbish and improve Valencian pilota facilities (aytosagunto.es).
