The Sagunto Culture Department has a packed programme this week centred on the III Mostra Saguntum ad Mare Nostrum, the city's annual festival of historical and archaeological outreach, which runs from 23 April to 30 May in its third edition in 2026. Highlights include Saturday's poetry reading Thalatta, Thalatta! at the Casa dels Berenguer (noon) and Sunday's guided visit to the medieval Temple of El Salvador and the Roman House of Fishes (10:00). The week also features Friday's free concert Daniel Ligorio: Manuel de Falla–García Lorca at the Teatro de Begoña (20:30) and Saturday's show De acero inolvidable at the Auditorio Joaquín Rodrigo (20:00, €9). The festival takes its name from the Roman name of the city, Saguntum, and Mare Nostrum, the Latin name for the Mediterranean (aytosagunto.es). Full programme available at aytosagunto.es.
