This Friday evening, 15 May, at 19:30, the Casa Municipal de Cultura in Puerto de Sagunto hosts Ada Byron: la tejedora de números (Ada Byron: the weaver of numbers), a multi-award-winning play by La Westia Producciones presented as part of the local Science Week organised by the City Council's Science and Innovation Department. The production explores the life of Ada Lovelace — widely regarded as the world's first computer programmer — her collaboration with mathematician Charles Babbage and her 19th-century vision of computing machines. Written by César Alonso and directed by Ernesto Arias, the show won eight Oh! awards in 2024. Admission is free but seats must be reserved in advance via agendasagunto.com or Servientradas (maximum two per person). Ada Lovelace (1815–1852) published what is considered the world's first computer algorithm in 1843 for Babbage's Analytical Engine (Wikipedia). Capacity is limited, according to aytosagunto.es.
