Sagunto's city council plenary unanimously approved a motion from Compromís per Sagunt calling on the Valencian Government and Spain's Transport Ministry to improve Cercanías (suburban rail), MetroValència and metropolitan bus services in the area. The key demand is a unified transport pass integrating Cercanías, local buses in Castellón and regional coach lines between Sagunto, Puerto de Sagunto and Castellón de la Plana. The council also asked for direct bus routes to the Jaume I University (UJI) and the University of Valencia's Burjassot-Paterna Campus, and for the 2026–2030 investment plan to include extending Cercanías to Puerto de Sagunto. The C-5 Cercanías Valencia line already connects Valencia-Nord station with Sagunto within a network of 66 stations and 252 km of track (Wikipedia). The motion was adopted with amendments from PP and IP, according to aytosagunto.es.
